Tata Motors introduced its month-to-month auto gross sales on Tuesday, June 1, reporting 24,552 models bought in May 2021, marking a 38 per cent month-on-month decline in complete home gross sales, in comparison with the earlier month of April. Tata Motor’s home gross sales in April 2021 stood at 39,530 models. According to a regulatory submitting by the corporate to the BSE on Tuesday, Tata Motors gross sales within the home and worldwide marketplace for May 2021 stood at 26,661 automobiles. According to the assertion, Tata Motors gross sales of complete business automobiles (CV) in May 2021 stood at 11,401 models, registering a 32 per cent drop month-month, in comparison with 16,644 models bought in April 2021. The business automobiles sale included passenger carriers, SCV cargo pickup, exports. The exports of economic automobiles stood at 2,030 models in May 2021, marking an eight per cent drop month-on-month, in comparison with 2,209 models in April 2021.
Additionally, by way of the home passenger automobiles (PV), Tata Motors registered 15,181 models bought in May 2021, marking a 40 per cent drop month-on-month, in comparison with 25,095 models bought in April 2021.
“The sequential trajectory in auto sector gross sales is on a considerable decline within the face of the second Covid wave (no YoY evaluation given the entire lockdown in May 2020). Since a lot of states in India had imposed pretty strict lockdowns to include the threatening rise in infections and mortalities, auto dealerships have been both closed or partially operated throughout the month,” stated Mr. Suman Chowdhury, Chief Analytical Officer, Acuité Ratings & Research.
On Tuesday, June 1, shares of Tata Motors settled 0.19 per cent decrease at Rs 318.10 per cent apiece on the BSE.
