A 20-year-old man and his pal have been allegedly assaulted and their heads partially shaved over his friendship with a lady in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district. The girl’s father and three others have been arrested.
They have been charged beneath the Indian Penal Code and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act filed by the person, a Dalit, over the incident that reportedly came about on May 22.
The complainant, Rajkumar Deharia, advised the police that he was pals with a 19-year-old girl from an influential household belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) group. He stated the girl had advised him she was not allowed to exit and didn’t have a cellphone to speak with him, so he borrowed his pal’s cell phone and gave it to her.
When the girl’s father discovered in regards to the cellphone, her kin allegedly introduced Deharia and his pal to their home and thrashed them, in response to the police criticism. The accused then shaved their heads and put garlands of footwear round their necks.
The two males have stated of their statements that the accused threatened to hurt them and their households in the event that they went to the police.
“A case has been filed. Rajkumar Deharia had given the cell phone to the lady from the Yadav group. The household bought upset and that’s the reason they beat them up. We bought the knowledge on May 27 and took rapid motion. The accused have been arrested and the courtroom has remanded them into police custody,” senior police officer Ravi Chouhan stated.
